Do you think God toiled when He made the world?

Did He get down on His hands and knees,
to carve out each river?
to sculpt each valley dip and mountain peak?

Did His fingers ache after cutting out each leaf on every tree ever to grow?
After creating the unique textures of the bark on each tree?

Did He step back to admire His first sunrise,
and smile at His color pallet?

What about when God made me?

Was it labor some to count out each hair on my head?
to find the right color for my tone of skin?
How long did He spend mixing hues to make the tints and glints in my iris’?

Did He smile,
at the color pallet He chose for me?

“it was one day He did this was it not? The sixth day: when God made man.”

And yet God is outside of time;
He can take as much as He desires,
without using any at all.

So,

did it happen in an instant?
In a snap of His enigmatic fingers?

Or was it slow, with precision,
in a different kind of instant we can never understand;
a toilsome one.

I like to consider the latter
